- Ahmed Maiteeq: Businessman Ahmed Maiteeq of Libya’s National Conference has been elected as the new Prime Minister.
- Rajeev Suri: Rajeev Suri has been announced the new CEO of Finnish telecommunications gadget manufacturer Nokia.
- Suresh Reddy: Suresh Reddy has been appointed as a full-time envoy for ASEAN. Reddy is at present ambassador in Iraq.
- Arvind Mayaram: Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Economic Affairs Secretary Arvind Mayaram as the new Finance Secretary.

- Justice G Rohini: President Pranab Mukherjee cleared the nomination of Justice G Rohini, the most senior judge of the Andhra Pradesh high court, as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
- P. Vijaya Bhaskar: In 2013, RBI had appointed a committee under the chairmanship of P Vijaya Bhaskar, Executive Director of RBI, as it wanted to avoid issues caused by the manipulation of London Interbank Offered Rate (LIOBOR) and exchange rates all over Europe.
- Sanjaya Baru: Mr. Baru was Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s Media Advisor from May 2004 until August 2008. Indian policy analyst Sanjaya Baru released “The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh” – a memoir.
- Robin K. Dhowan: Robin K. Dhowan appointed as the new Chief of the Indian Navy.
- Ratan Tata: The Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons and former chairman of the Tata Group, honoured by Queen Elizabeth with a GBE (Knight Grand Cross), one of the UK’s highest civilian awards.
- Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha: Justice R.M. Lodha appointed as the next Chief Justice of India. President Pranab Mukherjee with exercise of his powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 124 of the Constitution of India, appointed Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha, Judge of the Supreme Court, to be the next Chief Justice of India with effect from April 27, 2014.

- Koyal Rana: Koyal Rana from Jaipur won the Miss India 2014 crown at the 51st edition of the beauty pageant.
- Aamir Khan: Aamir Khan becomes Election Commission’s National Icon.
- Jens Stoltenberg: The Atlantic Council has appointed Jens Stoltenberg as the next Secretary General of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).

- BN Srikrishna: Retired Supreme Court judge, Mr. BN Srikrishna appointed as the Chairman of Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB).
- Ms Soma Mondal: Ms Soma Mondal appointed as the first female director (commercial) of Navratna Public Sector Unit (PSU) National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO).
- Mr. Anil Jain: An Indian-American scientist, Mr. Anil Jain from Michigan State University built the world’s first three-dimensional (3D) model of a human fingerprint known as Phantom.
- Shyamala Gopinath: The Union Government decided to hike interest rates on fixed deposit schemes offered by post offices by up to 0.2 % on the recommendations of Shyamala Gopinath Committee.
- Ms. Sheila Dikshit: Former Delhi chief minister Ms. Sheila Dikshit appointed as the Governor of Kerala by the President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.
- Jaswant Singh:Former External Affairs Minister, Mr. Jaswant Singh released a book titled, “ India at Risk – Mistakes, Misconceptions and Misadventures of security policy”. The book is on 60 years of Indian security issues.
- Chandi Prasad Bhatt: The noted Gandhian and environmentalist, Mr. Chandi Prasad Bhatt selected for the Gandhi Peace Prize for 2013.
- Kapil Sibal: Bollywood Actor, Mr. Salman Khan launched the music album titled “Raunaq” written by the Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Kapil Sibal. This album was composed by music maestro AR Rahman.
- Dinesh K Sarraf: Mr. Dinesh K Sarraf appointed the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD)of Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC).
- Ibrahim Mahlab Sworn: Mr. Ibrahim Mahlab sworn- in as new Prime Minister of Egypt.
- Lakshmi Swaminathan: Ms. Lakshmi Swaminathan became the first Indian to become president of Administrative Tribunal of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for three years.
- M.P.Bezbaruah: The Union Government expanded Bezbaruah panel to look into the various kinds of concerns of the persons hailing from the North Eastern States, who are living in different parts of the country, especially the Metropolitan areas, and to suggest suitable remedial measures which could be taken by the Government.
- Harminder Singh Dua: To cure blindness of eye due to glaucoma, Professor Harminder Singh Dua discovered an ultra-thin layer hidden deep in the human cornea (named Dua's Layer) that can help treat glaucoma.
- Konsam Himalaya Singh: Major General Konsam Himalaya Singh became the first Lieutenant General in the army from North East States.
- Sushil Koirala: Veteran Nepali Congress President, Mr. Sushil Koirala (75) elected as Prime Minister of Nepal.
- Marco Lambertini: Dr. Marco Lambertini appointed as the Director General of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) International.
- Sitaram Yechury: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, headed by Sitaram Yechury, has rejected the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Bill in the present form. The committee stated that the proposal for setting up a new aviation regulator lacks teeth in empowering the authority.
- Sarojini Naidu: 135th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and poet Sarojini Naidu. In India, ‘National Women’s Day’ observed on February 13 every year, in memory of date of birth of India’s first women governor Sarojini Naidu. Ms. Naidu was also known as the ‘Nightingale of India’ and the first Indian woman to become the president of the Indian National Congress.
- K V Thomas: The Central Consumer Protection Council (CCPC) under the chairmanship of minister K V Thomas set up a sub-committee to draft guidelines to safeguard consumer interest from false advertisements in the country.
- Ashok Kumar Mathur: The Central Government constituted the 7th Central Pay Commission under the chairmanship of Mr. Ashok Kumar Mathur.
- John Thompson: John Thompson appointed as the new Chairman of Microsoft.
- Satya Nadella: Indian-born Mr. Satya Nadella appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and member of the Board of Directors of Microsoft.
- Harish Rawat: The senior congress leader, Mr. Harish Rawat sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
- Shinzo Abe: Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day parade. He is the first ever Japanese dignitary to grace the occasion.
- Urjit R Patel: The Expert Committee to Revise and Strengthen the Monetary Policy Framework, headed by RBI Deputy Governor Urjit R Patel submitted its report to RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan.

- Sheikh Hasina: Sheikh Hasina becomes Bangladesh PM for 3rd time.
- Dr Shashi Tharoor: The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. Shashi Tharoor named as the Person of the Year by the animal rights body PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
- P.Pradeep Kumar: The Country’s biggest lender, State Bank of India (SBI) appointed Mr. P.Pradeep Kumar as its Managing Director and group executive in charge of corporate banking.
- Jayanta Narayan Chaudhary: Mr. Jayanta Narayan Chaudhary appointed as new chief of National Security Guard (NSG).
